It was just a few short months ago that some of us thought to put together a site that would enable NaeSmyth Cousins to be able to make contact with other cousins and share information about our common heritage. Today we have over thirty Cousins listed in our Address Book, two of which live in Australia, the rest in the United States.
If you've been visiting this site regularly, you will have noticed the many changes since we first went online in March of this year.
The "look" and "feel" of the site has changed substantially. We now have frames which allows a menu to be continuously displayed to ease navigation through the many pages contained within this site.
We now have a top banner that readily identifies the site as well as features current news headlines courtesy of www.7am.com.
The biggest change is that now our web-site has it's own "Host Server". This allows us to have virtually unlimited storage space so we can provide all of our ever expanding library of information.
The down side to this is that we're ever so much more at the mercy of the cyber-gods. Any one of three things going wrong can affect your ability to reliably connect to this site.
First is the forwarding agent's server. This is The people that own the Nesmith.com domain. If their server is down, so is ours.
Second, is the high speed ADSL modem connection. This is provided by the local telephone company. If it's down, we are too.
And third, is the server computer located here at Cousins.Nesmith.com. And again, if it's down, so are we.
The quantity of information available continues to rapidly grow. We currently have an online Family Tree, but it is already in need of updating. Please continue to submit your family line information updates and corrections.
Since first going online, we have received numerous additions and have been made aware of even more omissions and corrections.
Right now we are involved in the tedious task of making these corrections and additions. Please be patient, the results will be worth the wait.
