Clan Baird BadgeNaesmyth of Posso - Blazon of Arms

The below Blazon of Arms was established in the year 1544 upon the marriage of Sir Michael Naesmyth to Elizabeth Baird, Heiress to the Lands of Posso and Glenarth, Scotland.

Elizabeth Baird was the Grand-Daughter of Sir Gilbert Baird who was killed at the Battle of Flodden Field in 1513. King James IV of Scotland was also killed in this same battle against the forces of England's King Henry VIII.  Seen to the right is the Clan Baird Badge. (Go to the Clan Baird Society home page)

This Blazon of Arms displays the proper 'quartering', of the Naesmyth and Baird Armorial Bearing.
